In this second edition, taking place from September 25 to 28 at Serralves Park in Porto, around 50 artists will be present with proposals ranging from sound journeys through the treetops and educational games based on complex scientific concepts to the recreation of a lunar base. The program is for all ages, without excluding any voices.
Art workshops, creating a collective fanzine, unlikely conversations between comedians and scientists, a mini climate cinema cycle, installations that blend art and artificial intelligence, talks on sustainable food, or a masterclass on climate misinformation led by a UN representative are other highlights over these four days.
As in the first edition, the days of BOIL will be days of experimentation and frenzy: we will create a "living cultural organism," as curator Patrícia Craveiro Lopes writes, in a context where biodiversity is more than just a word. The fauna and flora of Serralves Park will be heard throughout the festival, and that's why every gesture of BOIL is both revolutionary and of minimal impact, to respect the environment that hosts it.
